Santander vs. AB‑Motors: The Mystery of the Unsendable Euro
Autobahn Motors & Services LLC

At AB‑Motors we like to keep things simple: you want a service, we do the service, you pay for the service, everyone’s happy. Except… apparently not if you bank with Santander España.

Yes, we’re aware. And no, you’re not the only one. And no, we didn’t mistype our own bank details like someone filling out a form half‑asleep.

The Problem

When someone tries to pay us from a Santander account, the bank throws an error claiming it “cannot confirm the account holder’s name.” Then it follows up with a generic, unhelpful “nope” message and refuses to send the money.

Even if you try to send 1 euro. One. Single. Euro.

What We’ve Checked

  • Other Spanish banks: work perfectly

  • International banks: no issues

  • Revolut, ING, BBVA, Caixa: smooth

  • Santander: absolutely not

Everything points to this being a Santander‑only issue. Not ours, not yours, not a typo, not a setup mistake. We’ve checked our details more times than we check torque specs.

A Possible (But Not Guaranteed) Workaround

All failed attempts so far have been online transfers. We’ve heard that going directly to a Santander branch in person might work.

We can’t promise anything — this is Santander we’re talking about — but it’s an option worth trying if you’re determined to pay from that account.

Current Status

There is currently no known fix on our side. If you bank with Santander, online transfers may simply fail.

What You Can Do

Until Santander decides to behave:

  • Try visiting a Santander branch in person

  • Use any other bank

  • Pay via Revolut, ING, BBVA, Caixa, etc.

  • Or ask us for an alternative payment method

We’ll keep investigating, but for now, if your Santander app refuses to send money to us, just know:

It’s not you. It’s not us. It’s Santander.
